Optional Ways to Give to Otyokwah Camp and Retreat Center

Prayer
As much as anything, we need prayer for this ministry.  We would love to have a group of people committed to regular prayer for Camp Otyokwah.  In order for you to be specific in your prayers, we would like to be able to periodically send you specific needs and concerns via our e-newsletter. Please contact us and provide your email address indicating you would like to be one of our prayer partners.

Contributions for Camp Operations
Each year we rely on the generous support of camp friends to help make this ministry possible.  These sacrificial gifts allow us to keep summer camper fees at a reasonable level where all young people can attend overnight/residential camp. It would make it very difficult for children and youth to attend summer camp if we had to charge them what it actually costs to operate the facility and program. Every year we seek to raise at least 10% of our operations budget through contributions.

Capital Fund Campaign
Because of the generous giving of Great Lakes Conference individuals and churches, as well as gifts from other friends of Camp Otyokwah AND because of a larger than anticipated settlement from the insurance company, all added to the generous gift from the Great Lakes Foundation –

.

  • Hopewell Hall (the new dining hall) at Camp Otyokwah will be DEBT FREE when all gifts and pledges to the Campaign are received.  As of June 30, 2010 we only owe $16,000 to the Foundation to pay back the loan and there is a greater value of outstanding unpaid pledges.
  • We anticipate payment of all pledges, realizing that some pledges still have time remaining before their time of completion.
  • The Campaign Steering Committee will continue to accept additional gifts for Hopewell Hall until the loan is paid in full.  Any excess funds will be allocated to the next Camp Capital Fund project.
  • Some persons have been asking “What is the next project?” “Where can we continue to give?”  We are launching into the next project which will be to build a new SHOWER HOUSE to replace the current one.  (Actually, we are moving to the next step of the original campaign.)
  • More information will be forthcoming to begin our solicitation for this project.  We anticipate a generous participation from all who have been involved in this Campaign to build a better Camp Otyokwah.  We will continue to…

Deweyville Campership Fund
The Deweyville Campership Fund was initiated to reduce overnight/residential summer church camp fees for campers with financial need.  If you would like to help send a child to summer church camp, this is a great way to help a child who might not get to come otherwise.

However you choose to support Camp Otyokwah, please know your love and dedication to the ministry is extremely appreciated!
